Electrical Design Engineer – Tranmere

Role Overview

The purpose of the role is to support the Envea operations and projects functions by providing input to all elements of design, project management, stock management and workshop activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Producing electrical and instrumentation drawings and documentation packages for issuance to customers, production, installation and commissioning teams.
  • Update and maintain AutoCAD/Solidworks libraries and standard.
  • Implement new products and equipment into libraries
  • Scope for developing knowledge and understanding of CEMS and Gas Detection systems through technical support and training, with progression to Project Engineer role.
  • Assisting Design Engineers, Systems Engineers and the Operations Manager to generate the relevant drawings and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • To support activities as required by the Project Team.
  • Creating drawing templates for the Engineering Department.
  • Process design change requests and implement required changes into library drawings and documents.
  • Any other reasonable request from management.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong AutoCAD/SolidWorks knowledge and skills.
  • Good electrical knowledge and understanding.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and process engineering.
  • Working knowledge of how efficient design, project and admin offices should work.
  • Highly organised and conscientious with a keen eye for detail.
  • High level of computer literacy, including AutoCAD/SolidWorks, MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Capable of working independently and able to work with others to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Previous experience with creating and controlling drawings and documentation would be advantageous.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Excellent administration skills including filing and maintaining records.
  • Effective communication skills, across all levels of the business.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office.
  • Possess flexibility and adaptability to manage varying volumes of work.
  • Ability to work co-operatively and effectively within the team and the organisation.

Travel

This role is based at the Envea office in Tranmere, Wirral, with occasional to travel to other ENVEA sites in the UK and very occasionally Internationally.
