The General Manager and Commercial Director reports to the Global Sales Director and will take responsibility for leading all sales, and sales support functions in the Korea territory.
Marketing, customer service, engineering, finance and HR leaders for Korea all report to global functional leads in parallel.
The General Manager and Commercial Director will take a leadership role in setting the overall culture and values of this new organisation; coordinating cross functional activities for the region and acting as site leader for local sites. The General Manager will also play a significant role in the integration activities as the two legal entities are brought together over time.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Deliver order entry, revenue and gross margin performance in line with agreed targets for the territory.
- Define and manage the structure and performance of the sales and sales support teams in line with targets, agreed objectives and individual performance criteria.
- Manage third party routes to market within an agreed set of parameters and monitor performance.
- With support from Global Director Regulatory, maintain an authoritative and proactive relationship with relevant regulatory bodies and working groups.
- Develop and maintain a commercial strategic business plan with focussed growth plans.
- Provide regular (monthly minimum) forecast reports covering opportunities created, order entry and revenue to Chief commercial officer.
- Define the Korea regional budgets and participate in the global budget process.
- Support global marketing programmes and develop lead generating marketing initiatives for the Indian market supported by the global marketing team.
- Ensure performance reviews and objectives are set and managed in line with company policies and expectations.
- Consolidate a full function territory report monthly.
- Manage an approval policy for bids and orders in line with global and agreed local guidelines.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a commercial leadership role, with a proven track record in delivering growth and results.
- Ideally educated to degree level in either a business or technical discipline.
- Preference to candidates with experience of working in and reporting through a global corporate structure.
- Experience of working in a regulated environment, particularly safety or environmental would be a significant benefit.
- Strategic thinker that can differentiate high value business from value revenue.
- Experience of dealing with key customers and other stakeholders at executive level.
- Excellent communicator in both written and verbal transactions.
- Experience in managing through CRM systems, particularly salesforce.com
- Familiar with the requirements of business and operational compliance, both internally and externally.
- Capable of building teams and driving a continuous improvement culture.
