EUROVIA Integrates IoT with Advanced Leak Detection Solution to Boost Compliance

Leading French asphalt producer EUROVIA aimed to improve its dust emission monitoring to comply with local environmental regulations and to meet its broader sustainability goals.  Collaborating with ENVEA, the plant connected a dust leak detector to its own IoT platform for continuous, real-time detection of particulate emissions. Almost immediately, the monitor identified a misaligned filter bag, allowing for the team to take instant action, and prompting the rollout of similar solutions across other EUROVIA sites.

Challenge

At their plant in Mitry Mory, surfacing expert EUROVIA produces more than 120,000 tonnes of asphalt for road construction sites in the Ile de France region. Built in 1988, the company has been making continuous efforts to modernise the site in line with local and national environmental regulations.

To maintain emission levels within the 50 mg/Nm³ threshold, the site was equipped with a bag filter spanning over 1,100 m² and consisting of more than 700 Nomex® textile bags.

Given the high strain on these filters, EUROVIA needed a highly reliable monitoring device to provide immediate alerts if emission limits were exceeded.

Solution

Working with ENVEA, and as part of efforts to develop a smart, connected factory, the team at EUROVIA integrated the LEAK ALERT 65-02 with their IoT platform. Within days of use, the innovative solution identified a recurring spike in emissions caused by a misaligned filter bag. Prompt corrective action was taken, and emissions immediately returned to compliant levels.

Benefits

From enhanced regulatory compliance to reduced downtime, the plant at Mitry Mory has seen significant value from its collaboration with ENVEA. So much so that EUROVIA has implemented similar solutions across other sites–demonstrating the company’s commitment to operational efficiency as well as environmental responsibility.

“We conducted extensive tests and are fully satisfied with the stability of the measurements and the durability of the Leak Alert. We asked ENVEA for a wider deployment of this type of device on EUROVIA sites looking for solutions for dust leak detection.
